Rihanna's Unapologetic album goes Platnium

Rih Rih has done it again! Her album Unapologetic, which was released on November 19, 2012, goes platinum after hitting the 1 million mark in sales last week.  So check this off as another victory for Rihanna and not to mention it’s her sixth album to go platinum! All of Rihanna’s albums have reached platinum status expect for her 2005 debut, Music of the Sun which has sold 607,000 copies to date.

"Unapologetic" reached the million mark in its 27th week, after selling another 9,000+ copies in the week ending May 26.  The album produced hit singles on the Billboard Hot 100 so far: “Diamonds” (No.  1), “Stay” (No. 3), “Pour It Up” (No. 19) and “Love Song” featuring Future (No. 55).

If Rihanna wants this to become her bestselling album, sales will have to continue its trajectory in order to top her 2007, Good Girl Gone Bad album that sold 2.8 million copies. The album features some of Rihanna’s biggest hit singles such as “Umbrella”, “Don’t Stop the Music” and “Disturbia”.
