Celtics' Rajon Rondo suffers from torn ACL

Boston Celtics' point-guard Rajon Rondo will miss the rest of the season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Rondo injured his right knee in last Friday's game 123-112 double-overtime loss in Atlanta.

During Sunday's game against the Miami Heat, Rondo was ruled out of the game after complaining of pain in his right knee. The initial report was a hyperextended knee but Rondo returned from an MRI performed at a local hospital and the Celtics confirmed that he suffered from a torn ACL. Typical recovery for a torn ACL can be 8 to 12 months, depending on the severity.

Rajon Rondo was announced the East's starting point-guard for the 2013 All-Star Game in Houston, Texas on February 17. The league announced today, that Brook Lopez of the Brooklyn Nets will replace Rondo's position as point-guard in the All-Star game. Without Rondo the East only features three guards - Kyrie Erving, Dwyane Wade and Jrue Holiday. Rondo's starting replacement will be determined by the Eastern Conference coach.

With Rondo being out for the rest of the season, what does this mean for the Celtics? Do they still have a chance of landing a spot in the NBA Playoffs? The Celtics team are hoping for a safe recovery for Rondo; teammate Kevin Garnett told him not to rush back and to "take care of himself". His teammates are willing to step up by playing more minutes.

Rondo was having a great season with averaging career highs of 13.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 11.1 assist this season.

However the Celtics are still struggling to remain around .500, with a eighth place seed in the Eastern Conference with a record of 21-23.

Tonight the Celtics' will take on the Sacramento Kings at 7:30 p.m./ET. Check your local listings for channel and network.

57th Presidential Inauguration

Today is one of the best days of the new year for many Americans. Not only are we celebrating the life and legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr, we are celebrating President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden's start of their second term at the 57th Presidential Inauguration in front of the nations' Capitol in Washington, DC.

Obama was sworn in by Chief Justice John G. Roberts on two Bibles: one from President Lincoln and the other from the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. President Obama gave another heart-warming inaugural address. Four years ago, President Obama delievered a speech about "change" and on this present day, he spoke on "moving forward" together as a nation. In this speech, Obama made an very significance connection between the past and present, focusing on this generation, justice and equality for all, and women's right. Below is a excerpt from his speech.

"We recall that what binds this nation together is not the colors of our skin or the tenets of our faith or the origins of our names. What makes us exceptional — what makes us American — is our allegiance to an idea, articulated in a declaration made more than two centuries ago"

"It is now our generation's task to carry on what those pioneers began. For our journey is not complete until our wives, our mothers, and daughters can earn a living equal to their efforts. Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law — for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well. Our journey is not complete until no citizen is forced to wait for hours to exercise the right to vote. Our journey is not complete until we find a better way to welcome the striving, hopeful immigrants who still see America as a land of opportunity; until bright young students and engineers are enlisted in our workforce rather than expelled from our country. Our journey is not complete until all our children, from the streets of Detroit to the hills of Appalachia to the quiet lanes of Newtown, know that they are cared for, and cherished, and always safe from harm."

Below is President Obama's Inauguration Speech

Highlights of the 57th Presidential Inauguration were the invocation prayer from Myrlie Evers-Williams, singer Kelly Clarkston's performance of "Our Country, Tis of Thee", the poem Richard Blanco delievered and the closing of the inauguration with songtress Beyonce Knowles singing the "National Athem".

Hundreds of thousands of people traveled from all over the United States to witness this great historical moment with their families and friends.

The next four years hold an incredible promise for the citizens of the United States, and President Obama is committed to work hard with everyone to help move this country forward as one.

Kevin Durant's Career-High 52 Points vs. Mavericks

Kevin Durant scored a career high
of  52 points against the
Dallas Mavericks during
Friday's game.

KD does it again! He never seems to surprise us but if you missed this game, you missed out on one of the best regular-season games in recent NBA history.

Kevin Durant set a new career high by scoring 52 points in the 117-114 win in overtime against the Dallas Mavericks that extended their winning streak to six games and ended the Mavericks season-best run of four straight on Friday, January 18.

Durant is the only player to score 50+ points this season. He first awed us with downing all 21 of his free throws. Yes, you read right, he didn't miss any!

Durant almost set another record tweeted by ESPN Stats & Info, that the "only player to make more FT without a miss than Durant's 21 on Friday was Dominque Wilkins 23-23 in a game in 1992".

However Kevin Durant didnt lead the team to victory by himself. Point-guard, Russell Westbrook scored 31 points in a co-starring role for OKC.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (32-8), are first in Northwest Division. Kevin Durant leads them in scoring with a average of 29.3 ppg, Serge Ibaka in rebounds 8.4, blocks 2.8 per game and Russell Westbrook in assist 8.3 and steals averaging 2.0 per game.

Tonight Kevin Durant and the Thunder will take on the Denver Nuggets and hope to extend their winning streak to seven games.

Juelz is Back! He's What the Game's Been Missing

A!!! The Dipset veteran, Juelz Santana is back and has been in the studio, both day and night as if he never left. The past few months have been nothing but a grind movement for him. From Instagram to Twitter, he's been showing us how hard he's been working on his new project.

Over a decade ago, Juelz Santana hit the rap sense not knowing how much it needed him and after taking a five year break, Juelz is back and he is certainly, what the game's been missing.

Juelz Santana released his God Will'n mixtape today at 7pm. This mixtape was defintely worth the wait. This mixtape features collaborations with Fabolous, Future, Meek Mill, Rick Ross, Wale and more. Santana collaborated with Rick Ross, Meek Mill and Fabolous on his single "Soft", this track quickly got radio play, and downloads  when it was first leaked weeks ago.

Santana has claimed the year 2013 as his and everything he does is "God Willing". A week ago, Santana sat down with Village Voices to discuss his upcoming project. Below are excerpts of the interview that describes how he was inspired to title this mixtape.

On the title God Willin’:
God Willin… it just came to me and it felt good, it felt right. After I announced the title people hit me on Twitter, reminding me that Clipse first album was called Lord Willlin‘. Honestly though the title just came to me. I didn’t even think of that album. It just came to me. Originally it was going to be called Reagan Era and Kendrick Lamar got a song with that title but I been screaming “Reagan Era” for years. Or like Jay naming his album The Blueprint after KRS had an album by that title. It’s all good at the end of the day.”

On the mixtape’s direction:
“I’m gonna treat the situations like I’m a new artist. I’m just hungry again. God Willin is just gonna be the start of a new chapter. I got a new label situation called Anything’s Possible. But it’s still Dipset, Skull Gang. I’m still on Def Jam. I already got the second mixtape done after God Willin where I’ll be rapping over other people’s beats but we’re just going to talk about God Willin for now. I’m just happy to be back in business. I want to enjoy working and go hard and be where I need to be. Right where some of these niggas ain’t supposed to be. I’m still lookin better than a lot of niggas who just dropped albums though. They looking lost out here. It’s time to follow the leader again.”

Santana has spoken for himself! The wait is finally over and look forward to a lot of new and upcoming projects from him. Salute!!

Beyonce Performs and Destiny's Child Reunite for Super Bowl XLVII

While we are waiting for the NFL playoffs to begin to determine which two teams will face off in the 2013 Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans; we already know that the halftime show will be phenomenal! Pepsi announced that 31 year-old songstress Beyonce will perform during this years' Superbowl halftime show. How exciting is that? Since the birth of Blu Ivy, we haven't seen much of Bey but she's back! It gets better...After performing solo, Beyonce will be reunited with the other two members of Destiny's Child; Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. The reunion of Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle was planned to be a surprised but somehow the cat jumped out of the hat with this one. There is no doubt in my mind that this trio will disappoint us. They are known to always grace any stage with their presence and please their fans! This performance will definitely be the highlight of Super Bowl night on February 3, but also a memorable moment in the history of entertainment.

Blu Ivy Carter Turns 1 and Plays UNO in the Bahamas

Time definitely flies by! In August of 2011, we saw Beyonce reveal her pregnancy at the MTV Video Music Awards during the middle of her "Love On Top" performance. Now, Blu Ivy Carter has just spent her first birthday this past Monday (January 7) on a vacation in the Bahamas with parents Jay-Z and Beyonce.

Jay posted this photo to his Life + Times website and captioned it "Last day of vacation, playing UNO". Though she may not have the best card skills in UNO just yet, looking at the cards on the floor, but this is most certainly an adorable photo.

Hov and Bey have kept their beautiful baby girl out of the spotlight since birth. Hopefully after this vacation, we can look forward to seeing more of Blu and her mother Beyonce as she prepares for her upcoming Presidential Inauguration and Superbowl performances.
