Tuesday night, the internet went crazy during this week’s Catfish episode on MTV. Nevax reads an
email form 19-year-old Keyonnah; from a small time in North Carolina. She
stated that she in an “online turned very passionate relationship with someone
who appears to be the rapper Bow Wow.” From their they found it hard to believe
that it was really Bow Wow, if he found a woman online that he was interested
in he would definitely take the time out to see her in person. Wait there’s
more!
The reason Keyonnah believed that she was really talking to
Bow Wow is because he sent over $10,000 in the four months they’ve known each
other. I know you’re thinking about how crazy that is it right? She explained
that the money was sent to her from Bow’s assistant Larry Brown. She saved most of the money and used the rest
to help her family members with bills as well as her daughter’s daycare.
After all the research was done and they traveled to Atlanta
to meet “Bow”, they find out that the guy who pretended to be Bow Wow is really
a 23-year-old woman named Dee. Dee is a rapper who goes by Dee Pimpin. From
there Keyonnah was heartbroken, she couldn’t believed that she was deceived by
what she had hopes was real.
After the show aired and it was the trending topic of the
day, Bow Wow decided to speak and give his reaction. He took his show’s website
BET “106 & Park” to address the situation. He actually feels honored that
someone pretended to be him.
"Look at me," he
says to the camera. "You can't impersonate this. These eyes, these ain't
contacts. You can't buy these and put these in your eyes to think that you're
Bow Wow. These tattoos on my body? These are permanent. You cannot draw these
on. There's only one. There can only be one. Not two, one. Just one, and that's
me."
Bow Wow is known for famously dating both Ciara and Angela
Simmons, then added his feelings about online dating. “Everyone out there Internet cyber-dating, make sure you know who you're
talking to. That's the best thing I can say. That's why I don't really do
things like that, I don't talk to women over the Internet," he said before
cracking up: "I'm lying, I do it all the time!"
