Drake's "Nothing Was The Same" Tops Billboard Charts

Drake’s third studio album sold 658,000 copies during the first week of its release, making this his best album debut in his career. His album Take Care in 2011 sold 631,000 copies in the first week. In 2010 Thank Me Later launched with 447,000 at No.1. In 2009 his debut EP So Far Gone landed at No.6 with 73,000. I think it’s safe to say that “nothing was the same.”

This has been the best debut week for any album this year, following Justin Timberlake’s 20/20 Experience which pushed 968,000 albums in March.  Not to mention, Drake’s first week album sales are reported to be best hip-hop release since Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV which sold 964,000 copies in the first week in 2011.

There is no question that Drake isn’t making moves in the industry. Congrats on your album already reaching gold status, I’m sure it won’t be long before NWTS goes platinum.
