J. Cole Announces "What Dreams May Come Tour"

Earlier this afternoon, J. Cole posted a twitpic of the words "What Dreams May Come" in various color schemes made out of hands. J. Cole announced that he will be going on a tour with Wale as a special guest. Just after completing his Dollar and A Dream Tour, promoting his new LP Born Sinner which has recently been certified gold; he's getting ready to hit the road again. Jay-Z Releases Trailer For "Picasso Baby"

Jay-Z released the trailer for “Picasso Baby” at the Pace Gallery in New York in which the entire world be able to see it on August 2^nd. Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film will debut at 11pm eastern on August 2^nd live on HBO. Immediately following the debut, Hov will be the guest on Real Time with Bill Maher. Tyga Sued By Video Vixens For $10 Million A Piece Over Explicit "Make It Nasty" Video

YMCMB artist Tyga is being sued by three video vixens for breach of contract of the explicit version of his “Make It Nasty” video. The video was recently released via Twitter and which it shows T-Raww partying in a mansion with a lot of promiscuous women, many of them were topless. However the casting ad stated that there would be absolutely no nudity in the video. Those who were asked to appear topless in select scenes were told that their breasts would either be edited or covered up.

Video vixens Elizabeth Velasquez, Alissa Rae Ross and Azia Davis claim that their breast were exposed and included in the video without their permission.These women are suing Tyga for fraud, invasion of privacy and breach of contract for the “Make It Nasty” video.

According to TMZ there have been new legal documents that have been filed in this case. Elizabeth Velasquez and Azia Davis are suing Tyga for $10Million each! Tyga has yet to respond. 

VH1 Releases Movie Trailer of "Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story"

VH1 has released the official trailer for the “Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story.” The film focuses on the lives and career of Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Rozanda “Chili” Thomas and the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez. The film will follow the birth of TLC, financial troubles and the tragic death of Left Eye. There’s already a lot of buzz about rapper Lil Mama for her role as Left Eye in the film. She will also be joined by KeKe Palmer who plays the role of Chili and hit televison series The Game's Drew Sidora will play the role of T-Boz. The movie is projected to be released in October. Beyonce's Hair Gets Caught In Fan During Performance

Monday, during Beyonce's show in Montreal she faced a never before battle while performing her ballad "Halo." While performing, some of her beautiful hair got entangled in a fan next to her on stage. However Bey didn't let that ruin the show. She still continued her performance as her team worked hard to remove her hair from the fan. Later that night she posted a photo via Instagram showing her great sense of humor.

Jay-Z & Beyonce Attend Rally In New York For Trayvon Martin

Yesterday in 100 cities across the nation, citizens of the United States decided to come together and rally outside of federal buildings in support of justice for Trayvon Martin. 

While Martin's father attended the rally in Miami his mother and brother marched for justice in New York also where Jay-Z and Beyonce took time out of their busy day to be a part of the protest of the Stand Your Ground laws.

They were also joined by the Rev. Al Sharpton. Check out the video below of the couple at the rally. 

Beyonce Fan Catches Holy Ghost During Performance

Earlier this week at one of Beyonce's concerts, an overly-excited fan caught the "holy ghost" after Bey grabbed his hand while performing "Irreplaceable."

Nipsey Hussle Arrested In LA During A Rally For Trayvon Martin

It has been reported from TMZ, that rapper Nipsey Hussle was handcuffed during a Trayvon Martin Rally in Los Angeles after police believed him to have been brandishing a gun. However once the rapper was let go, they realized he was not in possession of a firearm. 

Nipsey says the confusion may have stemmed from an incident with a random person who threw a bottle at Nipsey’s car. Nipsey says he and his crew got out of the car to say something to the bottle-thrower … then quickly got back into their car and drove away. Moments later, they were surrounded by cops.

Nipsey tells TMZ that he is upset with the way cops treated his brother who is disabled. “They pushed his face on the concrete. They dropped a knee in his spine then twisted his arm and cuffed him while he was not resisting.” He also mentioned that the cops held them on scene for 4 hours to only find out that he didn't have a gun. 

Some may view it as a case of racial profiling but Nipsey doesn't think it was. “I think it was the result of hyper sensitive LAPD officers overreacting once again.”

Jay-Z's "Magna Carta Holy Grail" Takes Over Billboard Charts

Jay-Z has done it again! He tops the billboard charts with another #1 album making this number 13. It may not top some of his classic albums such as the Blueprint, Reasonable Doubt, Black Album and American Gangster Vol 1. 

Even though Magna Carta Holy Grail has already went platinum due to the "new rules" and deal with Samsung, it has sold 527,000 albums worldwide! Congrats Hov on all of your accomplishments. 

Harvard University Announces The Nasir Jones Fellowship

Nas has done many collaborations within his career but this has to be by far one of the biggest! The school of Hip Hop has finally entered the Ivy League!  

Today, Harvard University's W.E.B. Dubois Institute for African American Research announced the Nasir Jones  Hip Hop Fellowship. The fellowship was developed from the Dubois Institute and Hip-Hop Archive.  

The Nasir Jones Hip-Hop Fellowship is dedicated to “find artists and scholars who demonstrate exceptional creative ability in the arts in connection with Hip-Hop”. The fellowship's mission is "to seek projects from scholars and artists that build on the rich and complex hip-hop tradition; to respect that tradition through historically grounded and contextualized critical insights; and most important, to represent one’s creative and/or intellectually rigorous contribution to hip-hop and the discourse through personal and academic projects."  

Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., Director of the W. E. B. Dubois Institute, said “Nas is a true visionary, and he consistently shows how boundaries can be pushed and expanded to further the cause of education and knowledge. The work of the Du Bois Institute is enriched by the addition of the Nasir Jones Hip-Hop Fellowship.” 

Nas is one of the most lyrical rappers in the history of Hip Hop who has always demonstrated a great deal of intelligence. Congratulations Mr. Jones on your outstanding accomplishment. You are truly an inspiration for children and young adults of this generation to follow.

Birdman Talks About Drake's Upcoming LP "Nothing Was The Same"

Drake is still on his no days off grind! As he prepares to release another album and go on tour he has been putting in work! 

MTV recently interviewed Birdman to talk about Drake and his upcoming album Nothing Was The Same which is scheduled to drop September 17. Drake’s hit single “Started From the Bottom” will be featured on the album but it’s not for sure if the newly released tracks “5AM in Toronto” and “The Motion” will make the album cut.

Birdman says, “He brings it to another level. "It be amazing to watch him. You got a Drake, you got a Wayne, you got a Nicki, you got all the little homeys who's turnin' the corner and everybody is super talented. It's just something amazing for me to witness in my lifetime."

Beyonce Covers July Issue of Flaunt Magazine

In most cases, everything that glitters isn't gold but Beyonce most definitely is! The songstress graces the cover of Flaunt magazine in a nude photo with her body covered in glitter for the July cover. 

Although Bey has covered many magazines within her career, however this may appear to be one of the sexiest of them all. 

For some, this photo may look familiar in which it was used in her "Year of 4" documentary photographed by Tony Duran in 2011. It is still unsure of why Flaunt wanted to use these photos but I'm sure Beyonce loves it and so does all of her fans. 

In this months issue, Beyonce speaks about being a gay icon, where she would like to make out with her husband Jay-Z, one piece of clothing she can't live without and more.

According to Billboard, rapper J. Cole's Born Sinner album is number one the charts. Born Sinner which was released last month is on the road of reaching gold status, selling roughly 58,000 in the last week. Since the release date, over 439,000 copies have been sold. Keep grindin' J. Cole.

Update: Second Suspect Arrested For the Murder of Lil' Snupe

Almost a month ago, Lil Snupe, a rising rapper from Louisiana was shot dead. The suspect Tony D. Holden turned himself in a few days later after police issued a warrant for his arrest.

According to the Shreveport Times, a second suspect was arrested on July 3^rd. 21-year-old Edrick O. Stewart; a native of Monroe was booked into the Winnfield City Jail on one account of manslaughter.

The first suspect Tony Holden was booked into Winnfield city Jail on one count of first-degree murder, armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. His bond has been set at $2 million. 

No bond for has been set for Stewart.

Don Cannon Named VP of A&R at Island Def Jam Music Group

 Yesterday morning, Don Cannon was announced the new Vice President of A&R for Island Def Jam Music Group. The award-winning producer will work directly with Karen Kwak, Executive Vice President/Head of A&R, to manage projects and discover new artists to sign to the label.

 Cannon began his career by working as a DJ and producer while creating a name for himself. Throughout his career he has worked with artists such as Jay-Z, Pusha T, Young Jeezy, Nas, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, OutKast and T.I.

In a statement about his new position Cannon, he said...

“A music person can only dream about being at Def Jam, the most important  hip-hop destination in the world. 16-Year-Old Canadian Producer Creates Beat for Jay-Z's Album

Jay-Z's "Crown" which is featured on his recent album Magna Carta Holy Grail was produced by a 16-year-old Canadian teenager. 

Born Ebony "Wondagurl" Oshunrinde, a black girl from Ontario, Canada speaks during an interview with MTV News on how she created the beat along with her experience of being a part of a great success. "The way I made the beat, I was at home one day and I was looking for reggae samples for a while and I finally found this one that was like crazy, it was Sizzla ‘Solid as a Rock,’” Wondagurl explained as she was inspired by Pusha T’s “Blocka,” featuring Travi$ Scott. “I took it and I cut it up and I put it in the software FL Studio and I started building around it, just adding 808s and more I built, I knew what I wanted.”

Wondagurl eventually sent the beat to Travi$ Scott who is affiliated with G.O.O.D. Music, said he would add more elements to the track. About a week later he announced that the track had made Jay-Z's new album. 

What Wondagurl did may be considered "impossible" to some but she's a young lady with a vision and having a beat she created on Hov's album is just the beginning. 

She mentions that she would love to work with artists such as Kanye West, Drake and Timberland.

Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose Gets Married

Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose have officially tied the knot! The newlywed couple got married today (July 8) as Wiz tweeted "Me and Amber got married today. Weddings this fall. Thought I’d let yall know.”

Wiz and Amber began dating two years ago after she ended her relationship with rapper Kanye West. In February of this year, the couple welcomed their son Sebastian, and last week they were spotted in L.A. applying for a marriage license. 

Congratulations to both Wiz and Amber!  

Frank Ocean's Recent Letter to Fans

Grammy Award winning singer Frank Ocean is known for his amazing vocals but also known for writing letters to his fans via Tumblr to keep them updated with what's going on in his life. 

In his recent post Frank talks about his daily routine, his journey on the You're Not Dead Tour and how he funded the tour himself. He also mentions that he wants to visit South Africa. To read more, check out the letter above. 

Beyonce and Solange Miss Their Father's Wedding

Matthew Knowles tied the knot last weekend and neither one of his daughters were in attendance. 

According to TMZ and other sources, it is said that both Beyonce and Solange had previous engagement that made it impossible for them to attend the ceremony.

Back in 2011, Beyonce's relationship with her father was in the spotlight when she released him as her manger. Hopefully the relationship between Mr. Knowles and his daughters is fine. 

On June 30th, Matthew Knowles, 61, married former model Gena Charmaine Avery, 48, in Houston Texas. They were engaged for a year and a half. 

Matthew and Tina filled for a divorce in 2009 however the divorce wasn't official until 2011. 

Bow Wow Releases "New York New York" Freestyle

 

BET recently announced that they will only be keeping Bow Wow better known as Mr. 106 & Park as the host of their hit show 106 & Park. 

Aside from hosting and acting Bow Wow is still in the studio working on his rap career. The YMCMB artist released a new track titled "New York New York Freestyle". Check out the song below.
