Last summer Juicy J made himself a trending topic when he announced that he would be awarding a $50,000 scholarship to a recipient who based on their twerking ability. Some people took offense by the scholarship but Juicy J later went on to explain the official rules of the contest.
“You don’t have to able to twerk to win this $50,000 dollar scholarship.” Just submit a video telling me “Why do you deserve this $50,000 dollar scholarship?” It’s not all about dancing and twerking. It ‘s about your personality. So I want people to know that if you want to twerk that’s on you but you don’t have to do that to win the scholarship. You can just send me a video showing me how smart you are or what your goals in life are for me to give you this money. It’s for people who use their brains, too.” Juicy told XXL.
The winner of this scholarship has been announced; Zaire Holmes, a mother studying Biology who plans to use the scholarship to help cover lab expenses. Note this; she didn’t twerk in the video she submitted.
This just goes to show that not all rappers care about a woman who looks attractive and can twerk her behind off.
