Rick Ross Sued for $90,000 Over Unpaid Rolexes

Maybach Music rapper, Rick Ross owes nearly $90,000 on three different Rolex watches that he purchased in August of last year.

According to TMZ, Ross owes Texas’ Johnny’s Custom Jewelry $89,847.50. The rapper is being sued for not paying the bill plus interest.

 Johnny’s says Rick Ross brought one 18K gold watch with 30 carats of diamonds ($55,000), one 18K gold watch with 7 carats of diamonds ($14,000) and one two-toned watch with 5 carats of diamonds ($14,000).

Hopefully he just forgot to pay his bill, it happens to most people. Rick Ross has yet to make a public statement about the lawsuit.

26th Annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards Recap

Last night (June 27), The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publisher (ASCAP) hosted its 26^th annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. With special invite only, hundreds of recording artists, songwriters, and producers were in attendance such as Sean “Diddy” Combs, Dr. Dre, 2 Chainz, Jermaine Dupri, Tyrese Gibson, Kandi Burus, Ne-Yo, Melanie Fiona and many more. The evening also featured performances by R&B singer Elle Varner, rapper Problem and gospel singer and songwriters Jason Nelson and Isacc Carree.

Special tributes were paid to Usher, who received the ASCAP Golden Note Award and Kendrick Lamar who received the ASCAP Vanguard Award.  Aside from the two special honorees, songwriters and producers of the most performed ASCAP songs on the 2012 R&B/Hip-Hop, Rap and Gospel charts were honored for their great contribution to the music industry.

Singer-songwriter Usher was honored last night with the ASCAP Golden Note Award. This award was presented to him by the original Bad Boy Sean “Diddy” Combs. Past recipients of this award include Quincy Jones, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Pharrell Williams, Jermaine Dupri, Mary Mary, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, LL Cool J, New Edition and Lionel Richie.

The rising rapper, Kendrick Lamar was honored with the ASCAP Vanguard Award presented by Dr. Dre. Dr. Dre added that Kendrick Lamar’s career proudly represents the future of rap.“I’m proud to know him. I’m proud to work with him and he is an important part of the new generation of hip-hop, and it’s definitely continuing the legacy of Compton.” Previous recipients of this award are Beastie Boys, Taio Cruz, Diplo, Janelle Monae and Santigold.

Special congrats to both Usher and Kendrick Lamar for being recognized for their great contributions to the music industry.

One award recipient that may come as a shocker to most hip-hop fans but Song Writer of the Year awards were presented to G.O.O.D. Music member 2 Chainz and Canadian producer Noah “40” Shebib, who each wrote four of the most performed songs of 2012. 2 Chainz was honored for “Bandz a Make Her Dance” (by Juicy J feat. Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz), “Beez In the Trap” (by Nicki Minaj feat. 2 Chainz), “Mercy” (by Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz) and “No Lie” (by 2 Chainz feat. Drake).  Producer 40 was honored for “Crew Love” (by Drake feat. The Weekend), “Make Me Proud” (by Drake feat. Nicki Minaj), “The Motto”, which won Rap Song of the Year as well (by Drake feat. Lil Wayne), and “Take Care” (by Drake feat. Rihanna).  Did you guys notice that this producer is from Canada and all four of his top songs were by rapper Drake who is a native of Toronto. Canadians are making their mark in the music industry; big ups to them!

Aside from last night’s top awards; other artists, writers and producers were awarded for their contributions such as R&B singer Miguel, Jeremih, Ne-Yo, Tyrese Gibson, writer and producers Orlando “Jahlil Beats” Tucker, Mike Will, and many more. Congrats to you all!

Suspect Arrested For the Murder of Lil Snupe

36-year-old Tony D. Holden who is in connection of the murder of rapper Lil Snupe is now in custody after turning himself in according to a police report. 

According to sources, Holden turned himself in to Winnfield Police yesterday (June 25) morning at 10:15 a.m. He is currently in the Winnfield City Jail where he is being charged with first degree murder, armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

No bond amount has been set as of yet.

Melanie Fiona Announces New Single "Cold Piece" Coming Soon

Melanie Fiona is one of the best R&B vocalists and if you've keeping up with her on Twitter and Instagram, you know that she is preparing to grace us with some new music. Lil Reese Charged With Theft

It seems as if the GBE members can’t stay out of trouble. First it was Chief Keef who’s latest arrest was on June 17 for a trespassing charge and Lil Durk was arrested on June 5^th, charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. Now Lil Reese finds himself in trouble.

According to CBS Chicago, on Saturday (June 22) Lil Reese was arrested on Chicago’s south side for the theft of a BMW. At a hearing on Sunday the rapper was set with a $5, 000 bail. To read the full report on Lil Reese’s offense visit CBS Chicago. 

J. Cole Made Nas Proud on "Let Nas Down Remix"

Last week J. Cole released his sophomore album Born Sinner,and on the track "Let Nas Down" he shared with us how he believed that he had let Nas down after finding out that he wasn't a fan of Cole’s first hit single “Work Out.” However on Saturday (June 22) Nas made it clear to J. Cole and fans that he’s still rooting for his and lets him know that he made him proud. Together they released “Let Nas Down Remix (Made Nas Proud).” 

"While you was writing down my rhymes, I was just tryna show you that if you say what's in your mind, you could stand the test of time/Now I'm playing Born Sinner loud," Nas raps on the track. "You made your n---a Nas proud. So you ain't Nas let down, it's just part of the game, becoming a rap king my n----You ain't let Nas down."

"How that sound? Here's the crown, pass it to you like nothing…You ain't let Nas down."

"Long live the idols, may they never be your rivals," Nas tweeted on Saturday, quoting Cole's hook on the original track, and adding, "I ain't put out no shit in a minute!" before they dropped the song. Nas tweeted up a storm about the new release and Cole responded with gratitude.

Jay-Z Releases "Magna Carta Holy Grail" Tracklist In A Scavenger Hunt

It isn't long before the release of Jay-Z’s next album. He sent fans on a scavenger hunt to publicly release the tracklist of his upcoming album. This weekend, Jay-Z organized a scavenger hunt in Brooklyn by posting  photos of locations in New York where black books could be found to unveil the song titles of Magna Carta Holy Grail.

The 43-year-old rapper announced the release of his upcoming album last week in a Samsung commercial during halftime of Game 5 of the 2013 NBA Finals. "It's this duality of how do you navigate your way through this whole this whole thing... through success, through failures, through all of this, and remain yourself," said Jay-Z.

The album is made up of 13 songs and two bonus tracks. Check out the full tracklist below.

Big Sean Announces "Hall of Fame" Album Release Date

Big Sean is back and is ready to release his sophomore album Hall of Fame, which is set to be released August 27th. Meek Mill Honors Lil Snupe In A Tribute Video

Earlier today, rapper Meek Mill dropped this video in honor of his young protege Lil Snupe, who died over a video game bet gone wrong. Lil Snupe’s song “Nobody” from his most recent mixtape R.N.I.C.; is featured in the video showing highlights and special moments that Meek and Snupe shared together.

Update: Lil' Snupe Murder Suspect Identified

According to police in north Louisiana, a 36-year-old man is accused of killing 18-year-old rapper Lil Snupe during a heated argument that broke out over a video game at a friend’s apartment.

Three warrants have been issued for the arrest of a suspect in rapper Lil’ Snupe’s death, according to the Shreveport Times.

The Shreveport Times report that the warrants have been issued for 36-year-old, Tony Holden; a local Winnfield resident with a rap sheet the includes drug charges, forcible rape, second-degree kidnapping and battery with a dangerous weapon on counts of first-degree murder, armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police have reportedly not yet been able to locate Tony, who TMZ reports is a convicted felon. He is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Addarren "Lil' Snupe" Ross, 18, died Thursday morning at an apartment in Winnfield, Louisiana. He was shot twice in the chest. Ross recently signed a recording deal with Maybach Music Group rapper Meek Mill’s Dream Chasers label and released his mixtape R.N.I.C.

Once again, I would like to send my condolences to the Ross family, friends and the Dream Chasers family. May your soul rest in paradise Lil Snupe. 

Sean "Diddy" Combs Inks Deal With Time Warner Cable

Diddy continues to expand his Bad Boy empire! Revolt TV, the upcoming cable network led by Sean "Diddy" Combs, has finalized a national carriage agreement with Time Warner Cable (TWC) for distribution. The announcement came earlier today, making Revolt TV one of the largest launches in cable TV history. 

After this announcement, Diddy released the following statement:  

This is a landmark distribution deal that demonstrates Time Warner Cable’s commitment to bringing a platform for music artists and fans to their subscribers. It positions Revolt to come out of the gate strong, and we look forward to igniting the passion of initial audiences across the U.S. With Time Warner Cable’s help nothing is stopping Revolt from becoming the new number one name in music.

The network is described to be the "first channel of the social media age," and will feature live performances, music videos, news, interviews, talk shows, and original series. During an interview with Hot97, Diddy explained that he would like to make Revolt TV the "ESPN of music," and would like to secure the rights to air Hot97's summer jams on the network.

Meek Mill Artist, Lil Snupe Shot Dead

Lil Snupe who was recently signed to Meek Mill's Dream Chasers label, died this morning according to most sources. 

Lil Snupe, 18 years old was reported shot dead and confirmed by his manager Leem7st via Twitter "The call I got this morning is un real RIP 2 my Lil nigga lilsnupe." Rapper Meek Mill also tweeted "tell lil snupe hit me up right now!!!" in disbelief. 

Very few details on this story has been released concerning the cause of death, but one thing that's for sure, is the Dream Chasers team lost a very talented young man too soon! 

Fans all across the country are paying their respect to the young rapper by tweeting his lyrics to posting photos on Instagram.

Lil Snupe joined Lee Mazin, Louie V Gutta, Goldie, Jahlil Beats as a flagship artist for Meek's record label. His recently released mixtape was R.N.I.C. (REAL NI**A IN CHARGE).

Retweet or DIE: Crazed J. Cole Fan Threatens to Kill His Sister

Yesterday, J. Cole released his sophomore LP Born Sinner that millions of fans were waiting for! However one fan took the release of his album too far. Yesterday, a crazed fan posted a picture of him aiming a gun at his younger sister threating to kill her if J. Cole doesn’t retweet him.

The rapper did what he was told, and later tweeted “Wildest s--- I ever seen on twitter.”

The FBI is currently investigating this case and so far no charges have been filed.

According to TMZ who spoke with the teen who stated, "I'd like to apologize to America for the photo and to put J. Cole in that position. It was all a joke." He also added, "It was an unloaded BB gun and my sister was in on it. I only tweeted it because I didn't expect a response. Mr. Cole please don't sue me. I want to formally apologize more to J. Cole and yeah my mom made me delete my twitter until I fixed it.”

New Video: Chris Brown Feat. Aaliyah "Don't Think They Know"

It took awhile but the wait is finally over! Chris Brown releases the full version of the track and video of his new single featuring Aaliyah called “Don’t Think They Know.”

The video was shot in Los Angeles, California. The opening scene of the video was inspired by the classic film Boyz n the Hood in a mostly black and white visual as Chris Brown visits various hoods throughout LA and Compton.

Chris tweeted “The new single is apart of my “UNITY CAMPAIGN” which encourages all races, genders, sexes, (everyone) gay or straight to love each other!” He also pays homage to R&B’s Guardian Angel Aaliyah with a holographic form of her and the video ends with a note that reads “Dear Aaliyah, We love and miss you, thank you for inspiring us all”.

Jay-Z Announces New Album "Magna Carta Holy Grail"

Kim Kardashian Gives Birth to Healthy Baby Girl

Congratulations to this power couple as they welcome a baby girl; their first born into the world..5 weeks early!! Kim went into labor late Friday night and went into full labor, early this morning. Though she gave birth five weeks early, both Kim and the baby are in good health according to sources. Sources are also reporting that Kanye was there by Kim's side to witness this special moment which lead to him cancelling his appearance at his album release party last night when Kim told him she wasn't feeling well. Again congrats to Kim and Kanye on their new bundle of joy. I know these two will be great parents!

Pusha T just finished touring with Fabolous on The Life Is So Exciting Tour and he's not taking any days off. Future Covers June/July Issue of Source Magazine

Future who is preparing to release his sophomore album Future Hendrix later on this year is featured on the cover of the June/July 2013 issue of The Source magazine.

He has proved that he deserves his spot in the industry, from his single “Karate Chop” featuring Lil Wayne to featuring on Ace Hood’s “Bugatti,” to Rihanna’s “Love Song,” to featuring a verse on Rocko’s “U.O.E.N.O,”. Yup Future did that!

2 Chainz Arrested at LAX for Drug Possesion

 

Just like the title of 2 Chainz, new single "Feds Watching" featuring Pharrell; he's definitely being watched! 

 According to TMZ, 2 Chainz has been booked on felony narcotics possession. 

 He was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport after police allegedly found under one ounce of marijuana and Promethazine; one of the two main ingredients found in sizzurp while trying to board an airplane, TMZ reports. 

 Just, yesterday 2 Chainz tweeted about his satisfaction of the weed in San Francisco: 

 First, he tweeted, “Rule #1 if a rapper gets robbed people usually post items that has been taken. Rings, chains, watch, money etc.” He then tweeted, “Rule #2 if a rapper gets shot he usually go to hospital or dies.” Lastly, he added, “Rule #3 we definitely got geeked up in San Fran, best smoke in the world. 2 blessed 2 stress.” 

 Back in February, he was arrested in Maryland after State Police pulled over a van he was riding in along with six others. In April he was found not guilty of the charges. 

 I wonder what the verdict will decide when it comes time for him to face trial. Let's see if he can "beat the case". 

2 Chainz Robbed at Gunpoint

Rapper 2 Chainz was robbed at gunpoint Sunday afternoon (June 9) in San Francisco. According to TMZ, when police arrived to the scene, 2 Chainz wasn't cooperative and "wanted to handle it himself."

 

Chainz reported that his wallet was the only thing stolen. 

 

Police reviewed an surveillance camera which indicated that 2 Chainz was the target. 

 

It is said that the video also shows 2 Chainz's entourage flee the scene. According to a officer that spoke with TMZ, he stated that they "ran away from the incident like cockroaches running from a flashlight."
