Singer-songwriter
Tiara Thomas, caught America’s attention with her appearance on Wale’s “The
Cloud” from his mixtape More About Nothing in 2010 and again on his
hit single “Bad” which will be featured on his upcoming album The Gifted.
Many of us
thought that Wale would eventually sign Thomas after their phenomenal collaboration
but instead she took a different route. Announced today, the 23-year-old
Indianapolis native signed a deal with Rico Love’s Division 1 and is the first signing
to his new label as a part of his new deal with Interscope Records.
"I'm
extremely excited about Tiara Thomas being a member of the Division1 family,”
said Love. “She's an amazing talent, phenomenal vocalist, and one of the most
creative songwriters I've heard in a while. We're anxious to see how the world
receives her. We have no doubt that that they’ll love her as
much as we do. #TTLO”
While attending
Ball State University, Thomas both co-wrote and co-produced Wale’s single “Bad”.
Thomas recently released her own full version of the track.
