Roc Nation signee, J. Cole released a visual for his
chart-topping single “Crooked Smile” featuring TLC. The rapper creates a
short-film, playing the main character; a drug deal whose daughter gets shot
and killed during a DEA house raid.
J. Cole dedicates the video to Aiyana Stanley-Jones, a
7-year-old girl from Detroit, Michigan who was shot and killed during a Detroit
police raid of a home on the city’s east side in 2010. The raid was being
filmed for the A&E television program “The First 48.
Cole ends the video with a message that reads: “For Aiyana
Stanley-Jones. And please reconsider your war on drugs”.
