Beyonce Releases Tribute Video to the City of Detroit

Two weeks ago the city of Detroit filled for Chapter 9 bankruptcy after falling into $18-20 billion dollars in debt. This is the largest bankruptcy in U.S. history.

Motown was one of Beyonce's stops on her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour and she brought hope with her to the city.

She dedicated a portion of her show to the city of Detroit to inspire the millions of residents to keep hope alive as she performed the Sam Cook's classic " A Change Is Gonna Come" as well as releasing a tribute video.

The video features highlights of some of the city's best assets, historical monuments and deconstruction of the city that has occurred throughout the years. The tribute also features photos of Detroit-bred superstars such as Aaliyah, Aretha Franklin, Eminem and other talented artist from the city of Detroit.

Being a native of Detroit, both born and raised; seeing the city that made me at its' worst is very sad to see but I know a change is going to come. Check out the video below!
